In August, we found out that the Australian Government is shamefully trying to get the UN to dismiss the landmark Torres Strait Climate Justice case. We need to show our support for the #TorresStrait8 (eight claimants) when they submit their reply on September 29th, to send a strong message that the Australian Government can’t silence their voices. How to take action:
Get creative and make your own signs or use one we’ve prepared, and spread the word – if we can get thousands of people posting on social media with solidarity photos and the hashtags, the claimants will feel the support for their case and the public pressure will push the government to meet their demands to protect the Torres Strait Islands from being washed away.
